5 Home remedies and tricks using aluminum foil
Aluminum foil is one of those items that can be found in almost all kitchens. Most people use it to cover leftovers or wrap up tomorrow's sandwich, but have you ever considered wrapping yourself in it? Here are five good reasons why that might not be such a bad idea.
1. Get rid of colds
When the flu season begins again, you'll be happy to have this trick up your sleeve. You can address many flu symptoms using aluminum foil — and no meds! Try wrapping your feet in five to seven layers of foil for about one hour. The foil has anti-inflammatory properties and can help mitigate some of your cold symptoms. Let your feet breathe for two hours and then repeat the process. You'll notice an improvement in a few days' time. Of course, you should always visit your doctor if your symptoms last for longer than one week.
2. Alleviate burns
Not many people realize that aluminum foil is better than most other things when it comes to healing burns. American researchers even recommend that doctors treat fresh burns with foil. You should first run water over the burn, carefully cleaning the wound, and then dry it with a clean towel. After applying a layer of ointment and clean gauze, wrap the wound in foil and fasten it with tape. Try to limit your movements and let the pain fade away.
3. You'll never be tired again
Too few hours of sleep or a stressful day can leave you feeling completely exhausted, even if you have lots left to do around the house. Aluminum foil can help you feel energized and ready to face the day once again. Tear off a few thin strips of foil and place them in the freezer. After two to three hours remove them from the cold and place them on your cheeks and eyelids. You'll notice your muscles immediately relaxing and loosening. Once you feel a sense of calm, remove the strips and marvel at how much more awake you feel!
4. Get rid of achy joints
Aluminum foil can be a real life saver for people with painful arthritis, gout, or sciatica. Try wrapping foil on the painful body part and take care to limit your movements. Leave the foil on overnight or for a day. Repeat for 10 days and then wait two weeks before applying it again. You'll be amazed to witness your pain slowly melt away.
5. Make beautiful hair ringlets
Foil can also help you transform straight hair into luscious locks overnight! It takes a little work, but it's easy enough to do.
